Rumors
Oh do sit down, dear and have a drink. Been a long hot day for you? Why of course it has! Why don't you tell me about it. I've got some tidbits for you too!
► Did you hear? There's some newfangled way of making easy gil. Monster breeding! I don't know all the particulars, but folks are raising their own monsters then harvesting their hides for big profits. Hear the craftspeople really pay well for the product too. Why, I even have my own pet porky to raise now.
► Be glad you weren't in Rabanastre last month. The top blew off that monster monument they have north of the city. Scattered debris everywhere. People got hurt, even killed by it! Who did it? Well, I did hear some young woman came staggering out the front door. But my guess? Ghosts! There's still all kinds of dead bodies in there no one recovered. I bet it's just crawling with angry undead.
► Have you heard of the Scouts before? No? They're that group that escorts people through the Mosphoran Highwaste. Or they did. Seems they've gotten a bigger hankering for scouting. Now they're offering to take anyone to any Gate Crystal, for a fee naturally. Man's gotta earn a living, after all. I think it's a fine service though, letting folks see places they've never been.
► Don't get me wrong, I love a good fête same as the next soul. But I don't think it's right for the queen to be eating cake with an Imperial, if you know what I mean. Why in the gods' names would she toast the very people what took over her country? It's just not right. I'm not the only one that thinks it either. She'd do better to see about courting a husband and making babies than playing hostess to a little emperor. Unless the party is to announce her engagement and tell those Imperials whatfor. Why that'd be grand, don't you think?
► Speaking of little emperors... guess someone's growing up. All them grand Archadian ladies throwing themselves at him and he's keeping common street dancers and Viera at his palace. Well if that's where his tastes run, there's nothing for it. Bet them fine ladies have their knickers in a twist over it though.
► Guess Rozarria's turning into a big brother. Dunno what's going on inside the country, but sure do know about outside. Someone I know works at the palace said some formal delegation offered Queen Ashelia a battalion of troops to protect her city against "outsider incursions." Now what in the world could that possibly mean? Seems they've been negotiating something the same for some clans what have control in Jylland. Won't come to nothing though. Auctions are next month and everything's like to be shuffled around.
► What bothers me though? It's been four years and there's still no Gran Kiltias. Suppose that's what happens when the one previous is murdered but I sure wish they'd think of the common people and step up. Who's gonna lead the faith if no one is? I think that itinerant priest what's been traveling and sermonizing ought to do it. It'd do us all a world of good to have a righteous Gran Kiltias again.
